Coffee News
Kenya Nguvu is back in stock!
Kenyan coffees have been in short supply, but we’re finally getting some in. Kenya Nguvu is ready to order.
8/11/26 – New arrival…
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Testi – an unusually clean coffee from the Testi processing mill. This coffee produces a beautifully uniform roast, unlike a lot of coffees from this region. It has an elegant flavor profile you won’t want to miss out on.
6/1/2026 New coffee!
From the Chiapas growing region of Southern Mexico, a nice Turquesa is now in stock. Nutty and milk-chocolate characterize this coffee.
5/18/2026 Papua New Guinea is back in stock
5/15/26 Papua New Guinea is temporarily out. More coming soon.
5/6/26 – Just in…..
From Tanzania, back by popular demand. BTW, Kenyan coffees are currently not available. We’re hoping to have some back in stock by sometime in June.
4/16/26 Sweet Yellow is back in stock!
3/20/26 – Ethiopian Mokamba is on it’s way.
This nice nice natural processed coffee has interesting berry notes to it. We should have it available by middle of next week.
Unfortunately, we had to increase prices again last week. We really don’t like doing this, but it is necessary for us to stay in business. The good news is that coffee prices seem to be stabilizing a little and a good harvest is expected in Brazil this year (fingers crossed regarding another weather related mishap). Oil prices are surging too, which will not have a good effect on prices if they remain high for very long. Tough times in the coffee industry, but we will always offer full pounds of coffee for pretty much the same price that a lot of other roasters have for small 12oz bags.
2/17/26 Sweet Blue is Back in Stock!
1/17/2026 Ethiopia “Konga”
Try our new Ethiopian Konga. It is amazingly fresh and vibrant.
12/9/25 Costa Rica La Minita Tarazzu is Back in Stock!
12/2/25 Sweet Blue, back in stock!
We’ve been out for a week or two, but Brazil Daterra Sweet Blue is back.
10/14/2025 Back in stock…
Mexico “Jaguar” and Tanzania Igale are both re-stocked and are available to order.
9/5/25 Kenyan Nguvu
Back in Stock!
8/14/25 Just in….
Honduras Camayagua. Fresh beans just arrived from harvest. Orange-like citrus with hints of almond with a sweet, tangy finish.
8/10/25 New arrival….
A new coffee from Honduras will be available within the next day or two. We have it in stock but need to post it. Please check back soon!
Other news: No more Monsooned Malabar (for now). With the crazy tariffs constantly changing, Coffee from India has become difficult and expensive for us to source. For now we’re holding off until things settle down.
7/7/2025 Now available…
A nice Tanzanian from the Southern Highlands growing region. These are not peaberries that are so commonly found coming from Tanzania but instead are nice sized regular beans. Cupping notes include: flavorful with orange, cinnamon and light pepper notes. It should be available by the latter part of next week.
5/1/25 Uganda Silverback is back in stock!
3/5/25 Coffee prices going through the roof!
Due to major shortages and limited availability of coffee in the growing regions of the world, coffee prices have soared and has become, in some cases, difficult or impossible for us to get. The good news is we were able to secure most of the coffee origin coffees we normally carry for the next 6 months or so out. The bad news is we have been forced to increase our prices across the board. It has become for us more of, “can we get it at all”, rather than, “what’s the cost?” Fun times, but we will survive!
2/25/25 Monsooned Malabar is back in stock!
2/21/25 Monsooned Malabar will be available next week!
1/13/25 Two re-stocked African coffees:
Tanzanian Peaberry and Uganda Silverback are available to order. Note that these two amazing African coffees will probably be gone sometime in March so don’t wait to get yours.
12/29/24 Sweet Blue is Back in Stock. Plus another…
We also just received another nice coffee from Mexico: Siltepek Jaguar. This is a nice clean, crisp tasting coffee you won’t want to miss.
11/28/24 Happy Thanksgiving! Some updates…
Costa Rica La Minita Tarrazu is back in stock. We had a big run on this one last month and had unexpectedly ran out.
New Crop Ethiopia Misty Valley also just came in. This is one of our all-time favorite Ethiopians at the cupping table. Always exciting. Some cupping notes: strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, smooth body with tea-like aromatics. Lingering lemony citrus. Well balanced cup.
11/10/24 From Ethiopia…
New Crop Shantawene is now available. Next month expect another favorite Ethiopian of ours: Misty Valley.
11/1/24 Incoming coffees…
Tanzania Zanzibar Peaberry is now available! Later next week we’ll be getting in more Ethiopian Shantawene.
9/29/2024 – Just came in…

were both temporarily out of stock. Both are back in stock and are available to order.
1/15/24 – From Mexico, “El Buho”
El Buho (el boo-oh) is a nice high-grown coffee from the Southern region of Chiapas. It is one of our current favorites at the cupping table.
12/25/23 Merry Christmas! We’re pleased to announce yet another new arrival…
From a section of the vast La Minita Farms in Costa Rica, “Finca Melico” produced some Black Honey coffee beans using carefully selected, unblemished beans through a rigorous sorting process.
11/16/23 Just in….
Fresh New Crop Ethiopians are in so get them while they are at their very best. Yirgacheffe “Konga” was just added to our line-up. Make sure your brewing equipment is clean clean clean before brewing this sweet, complex coffee in order to appreciate all of the intense orange-lemony sweetness it has to offer.
10/31/23 Kenya Nguvu in stock!
We’re excited to have received our shipment of Kenya Nguvu. It is now available under the Single Origin tab, or just click here to get there.
10/21/23 Coming very soon…
Kenya Nguvu is coming back next week along with Ethiopia Konga. They should be posted by mid to late next week.
9/15/23 Back in Stock
Indian Monsooned Malabar and Costa Rica La Minita Tarrazu are both back in stock. Konga to be posted soon.
9/12/23 Temporarily out….plus some incoming
The popular Indian M0nsooned Malabar is temporarily Out of Stock. We’ll have it Back in Stock by Thursday (only two days away!). Costa Rica La Minita Tarazzu is also Out of Stock but will be Back in Stock by Thursday. Other incoming coffee includes another nice Yirgacheffee, “Konga” that will be available by the end of this week. This is the season for New Crop Ethiopians so we’re stocking up. We currently have Misty Valley, Halo Beriti, and Shanatawene available that can be found under the “Single Origin” tab.
8/30/23 New Tarrazu from Costa Rica
We just posted some “Hibrido Tico” from the Hacienda La Minita Farms in the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica. There is a description of anaerobic processing in the link. Supplies are limited, so don’t miss out!
New single origin coffees are in!
Ethiopia Misty Valley and also from Ethiopia, Shantawene are both now available. They are both new crop and exude berry-like jam flavors. As soon as Valic gets around to it, we have another new coffee from Costa Rica; one of our favorite coffee growing regions.
8/5/23 – New coffee –
One of the brightest and tastiest of Guatemalan coffees is back – La Voz is from the Atitlan growing region of Guatemala. Loaded with a combination of citrus and milk chocolate, this is a great morning eye-opener.
6/21/23 Happy Summer. Finally….
The Tanzanian Igale coffee we’ve been waiting for has arrived and is now available for purchase. This is a limited edition coffee and we don’t have a very large quantity of it. Read the description of the coffee and check out the image of the pulping machine used to process the coffee cherries and you’ll see why. The producers do a remarkable job with their small equipment as the raw beans we received are clean, green, and contain the perfect moisture content for us to roast them. We are happy to support them and their goals of producing what is truly specialty grade coffee. On a side note, we’re expecting a procession of some other really nice coffees over the next several months until Fall. These include mostly Ethiopian and Central American coffees.
6/2/23 – It took an extra week
But Valic was able to get the Costa Rica El Reconsito posted. An excellent coffee. Unfortunately, the Tanzania we’ve been waiting for did not make it on the shipment but should be available when we get the next one in a couple of weeks. The Reconsito is limited in quantities, but we were able to finagle some extra so we should have enough to last through July.
5/22/23 – Coming very soon…
It’s been awhile since we posted new offerings. There are two new varietals that are inbound and will be here by the end of the week. Another specialty from Costa Rica – “Finca El Rinconsito” – This is truly an amazing coffee that will be limited in quantity. Also incoming is a nice Tanzanian – this time it is not a peaberry, but standard beans. The profile is rich body combined with caramel-like tangerine notes. Valic should have these posted by Friday of this week. (we’ll see how it goes…)
3/26/23 New offerings…
2/28/23 The new arrivals are in…
Now available from Mexico, La Laja Honey From Kenya, “Iriga”. Also back in stock is Zambia Gold.
1/29/23 News and Updates
We’re working on getting new pre-printed 1lb bags, so expect them to change, hopefully within a couple of weeks. This has been a project in the works for some time now and we’re excited with the new bag design.
Next, incoming coffees (later this week) include a couple of Africans; a new Kenyan as well as Zambia Gold Peaberry. Also incoming is a Mexican honey-prep coffee. We’ve been hard at work sample roasting this unusual coffee to find the sweet spot. It has some nice chocolatey nuances as a dark roast, but at the same time offers a brown-sugar sweetness at lighter roasts which kind of disappears as the roast approaches full-city (dark). Not to worry though as we’ll get it thoroughly dialed in before offering it as a single-origin choice. Check back towards the end of next week and all three of these should be available by then.
2/9/23 – From the Tropic of Capricorn –
Brazil Aguas Paulistas – a sweet micro-lot coffee available in limited quantity.
1/26/23 – From Costa Rica, Lilo Black Honey
From La Minita Farms in Costa Rica, we’re happy to announce arrival of new crop Lilo, a black honey prep Tarrazu. This is a specially prepared coffee that undergoes additional processing designed to accentuate sweetness while maintaining the original vibrancy of the bean. We have a limited amount so when it’s gone, it’s gone until next year. Meanwhile we expect to have exciting new monthly “high-end” roasted coffee offerings for the next few months, so if you’re into exceptionally nice coffees, check back frequently.
1/14/2023 – Now available –
Ethiopia Limmu – Burka Gudina Estate and also from India, Bettadakhan Estate (Mysore Nuggets)
1/5/23 – Incoming new coffees…
Due in later this week, a very berry-like Limmu from Ethiopia. Also from Mysore India – Bettadakhan Estate. More popularly known as “mysore nuggets”. Mysore is actually a lush coffee growing region in India with numerous farms. Bettadakhan Estate is one of the more well-known coffee farms because of their attention to quality.
11/30/22 New Kenya and Tanzania roasted coffee
From Kenya, “Nguvu” and from Tanzania, “Zanzibar Peaberry”. We’ve replenished our stock of the Tanzania Peaberry. The Kenya Nguvu is delightfully new to us. Large beans, vibrant taste – an excellent coffee.
11/22/22 Coming very soon –
Back by popular demand – Tanzanian Peaberry. These tasty little football-shaped beans are just hard to beat. Also coming in this weekend is a Kenya AA (AA signifies large beans) from Nguvu, which is located at a high altitude and has rich, deep red volcanic soil which makes for growing intensely flavored coffee beans. Expect them to be posted by Saturday.
10/16/22 – Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Misty Valley
is now in stock. This is one of our favorite Ethiopians.
8/15/22 – Zambia Natural Gold
A new yellow-honey processed coffee came in a few days ago. Zambia Isanya Estate produces some of the best coffee in the region and is the largest coffee farm in the country.
8/10/22 Another New Arrival
From Oaxaca Mexico: Mexico Guadalupe Miramar Mixteca. A meticulasly well processed coffee that we were fortunate enough to get ahold of some before it disappeared for the year. It is a current favorite around the roastery right now.
8/7/22 Peru “Amazonas”
Peru Amazonas was just added to our single origin offering list. Coffees from Peru have long been underrated in the U.S. but that perception is slowly changing. This coffee will not disappoint.
8/6/22 Ethiopia Harrar and Yirgacheffe are now available.
Harrar is one of the prominent growing regions of Ethiopia producing exotic, berry-like character coffees. Additional new arrivals will be posted soon. Click Here to read more and to order.
We also have added a nice Yirgacheffe to our single origin line-up. Moving to the other side of the world, we have two new coffees that will be posted soon (from Central and South America). Stay tuned!
6/5/22 Just in –
From Southern Mexico, Turquesa is a high grown coffee grown in a hot climate. This produces a unique flavor profile of chocolate and nutty notes.
5/21/22 – New from Costa Rica –
A Rainforest Alliance certified coffee from the famous La Minita Farm complex, “Lilo Black Honey”. Fresh and plentiful, if you like the vibrancy Central American coffees have to offer plus an upkick in chocolaty sweetness, you won’t want to miss out on this. We’ve been impatiently waiting for months for this coffee to arrive and it has not disappointed.
5/10/22 From Indonesia –
Flores “Blue Dragon” is back! This is a clean tasting coffee from the island of Flores, Indonesia. The coffee beans are processed by the same method as other Sumatran coffees giving them a blue-ish green emerald color before they are roasted. The island of Flores is home to the Komodo Dragon. Hence the name “Blue Dragon”.
4/30/22 Anther New Arrival –
Brazil Jose Adao Gomez is now available.
4/29/22 – Tanzania Zanzibar Peaberry,
Ethiopia “Misty Valley” are back in the line-up. Others to follow soon…
4/22/22 – Incoming Coffees –
They won’t be available until mid-next week. Teasers include Misty Valley, from Ethiopia (a popular coffee we carry from time to time). Tanzania Peaberry (also a popular blast), a select Brazil and a new Kenyan coffee that is new to us. Stay tuned…
On the other side, we’re out of Hawaii Ka’u until our next shipment arrives also next week some time. Ka’u is very limited so when we do get it, it will be our last until early Fall.
4/7/22 Ethiopia Sidamo “Bombe” is our featured coffee for the week.
Ethiopia Bombe roasted coffee is a full-bodied natural processed heirloom coffee from the Bensa growing region of Ethiopia. Berries and sweetness typify the flavor nuances.
3/27/22 Brazil Yellow Honey
Brazil Maristella Sauza is back. A sweet-nutty tasting coffee from Brazil. This coffee is one of the specially selected coffees to be part of the Cornucopia Project in which farmers have shown good coffee farming techniques and special care shown to their crops resulting in superb coffees. Maristella Sauza is a yellow honey process with is a method used to enhance sweetness while maintaining a bright flavor profile.
2/25/22 – A Dark Roasted Sumatran –
Takengon Golden Gay0 is now available. Those of you that have been around awhile know that we typically avoid dark roasting as we believe it diminishes unique cup character of the different varieties of specialty coffee. This Golden Gayo is an exception as we’ve cupped it over and over to find the sweet spot, which in this case is in the darker area of the spectrum. Don’t expect it to be oily though, as we haven’t totally lost our heads and roast it just into 2nd crack, but not much more. Lighter roasts are available, just mention it in the comments section of the shopping cart while checking out.
1/18/22 – New: Tanzania Zanzibar Peaberry
We had some of this aromatic peaberry coffee about 6 or 7 months ago and we were lucky to get some of the most recent harvest. Tanzania Zanzibar Peaberry is an elegant coffee that is…….just one of the nicer things in life to enjoy.
1/14/22
From Brazil – Eloir Inocencia Nogueira now available. This is one of those rare-find microlot coffees that when it’s gone, it’s gone.
12/31/21 Leaving 2021 with a bang
Just in from Ethiopia – Misty Valley. One of our favorite Yirgacheffes.
This year’s a wrap…Thank you to all our loyal supporters over 2021 without whom we’d not be in business. Overall it’s been a great year for Lost Dutchman Coffee Co. There have been many changes and challenges for us as I’m sure it has been for most folks, but as a company we’ve motored through it all and have had a successful 2021. Happy New Year to all.
12/29/21 Guatemala La Flor del Cafe Antigua –
From the heart of the Antigua growing region in Guatemala, La Flor del Cafe is a superb coffee that we’ve carried before. It is a traditional classic Antigua famous for the unique, rich volcanic soil it is grown in.
12/18/21 – Just in: Kenya Karatina
Deep and savory, yet profoundly sweet and floral. Grown on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. Click Here for details.
12/12/21 New Peaberry coffee from Papua New Guinea
Bunum Wo Peaberry coffee is now available under our Single Origin offerings. Coffee from this region is becoming more difficult and expensive to obtain, mostly because of supply chain disruptions affecting pretty much everything these days. Bunum Wo is similar in characteristics to the Sigri Estate that we almost always have in stock – which by the way is expected to return in a month or so. You won’t be disappointed in Bunum Wo.
11/25/21 Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Sakaro
Was just added to our African coffee line-up. Click here for details. We also have a new Kenyan that will be posted as soon as we get it unloaded. Happy Thanksgiving!
11/11/21 – Hawaiian Ka’u back in stock!
11/6/21 Costa Rica El Churro Honey
El Churro Honey-Natural Microlot is a blend of natural
processed and black-honey processed coffee from Hacienda Sonora in Costa Rica’s
Central Valley. This coffee is now available in limited quantities. If you like Central American coffees, you won’t want to miss out on this one.
9/6/21 Happy Labor Day
We’ve received a few comments from some of our regular customers mentioning that their previous accounts with the old web site no longer seem to work on this new site. This is because we are using an entirely different set up and it’s simply not practical to go through all the existing legacy accounts and transfer them over to the new system. There are just too many. So unfortunately, you’ll have to re-create your account for the new web site. The good news is that it only takes a few minutes to do so. We appreciate your patience and continued support.
9/4/21 – Two new coffees are now available
Two new roasted coffee offerings are available: Kenya, “Gachatha AA” and from Mexico, La Frailesca, which is from the Southern state of Chiapas. Both of these coffees are grown at high altitudes, but in very different parts of the world.
8/31/21 Coming very soon…
Mexican coffees are generally underrated. This is because of cheap, poor quality beans that flooded the market some years ago. Times have changed, and so has the quality from the Southern Mexico coffee growing regions. From Chiapas, we have some La Frailesca coming in later this week to help drive the point home. La Frailesca will be a medium roast with big creamy body highlighted by milk chocolate, roasted nuts, and hints of apple. This coffee will stand on its own as a single origin espresso (lots of sweetness) as well as all other brewing types. It will be available to order by Saturday so please check back.
8/29/21 – Ethiopia Mokamba is now available.
Ethiopia Mokamba is a sought after Ethiopian coffee we try and get our hands on whenever it comes around. The quantities produced are small so we’re fortunate to be able to get some from time to time.
8/24/21 Ethiopian Mokamba
Coming in later this week. This is a dry-processed coffee coming in with sweet, berry notes.
8/21/21 Brazil Maristella Sauza Yellow Honey prep is now available.
We’ve offered Maristella Sauza several times in the past and have brought it back. It is a popular yellow honey preparation great for everything from pour-over brewing to single origin espresso.
Waiting in the wings is a micro-lot Kenyan, to be uploaded soon.
8/20/21 – New Brazil Yellow Honey prep will be posted soon. Black Honey is all gone!
8/13/21 – From Sumatra, Raja Batak Peaberry
This new offering has been added to our Single Origin Coffee line-up. It’s from the Southern Lake Toba area of Sumatra, where a lot of the higher quality Sumatrans are grown.
8/12/21 New Web Site
Our new web site is finally up and running! We’ve worked closely with our awesome web developer and painstakingly tried to keep the same basic feel as the older one, but with modern features added which should make it: easier to navigate, more secure, and hassle-free to go through the check-out process.
Other news: We have some new coffee varieties to add, including a Sumatran Peaberry from Raja Batak, and will get them up within the next day or two.
4/2/21 Some Good News
we finally received the long awaited arrival of a nice Brazil from“Jaurez Colatino Barros”. This coffee, grown on a small microlot producing farm, received very special attention during the entire growing season. It was selected as part of the Capricornia project that we feature from time to time.
Brazil Black Honey is all gone. We have more held in reserve and expect to take delivery of it later this month (or maybe in May). For now we highly recommend the Jaurez Colatino coffee in above post in its place. If you like the Black Honey, you’ll definitely like the Colatino.
Update on our new web site: It’s quite a project. We want it to be just right and while focusing on modernization for better mobile device usage, we’re trying hard to keep the “flavor and feel” of the current site so hopefully it won’t be too much of a “smack in the face” to some. It’s coming along nicely and is a month or so out from launching. We’re very excited about it.
3/19/21 – Apparently
there have been some issues with our shopping cart deleting coffee selections when more than one is made. It was only happening with certain types of coffees, but the issue should be fixed now.
Ethiopia Sidama “Masha”
Ethiopia Sidama “Masha” has been added to our offering list. Masha is an organic, shade-grown certified coffee from the Sidama region of Ethiopia. This is one of those berry-like exotics that we get in every now and then. When it’s gone, it’s gone!
Some exciting news
Our web site is currently being rebuilt from the ground up in order to “catch up with the 21st century”. Originally created in/around 2004, we’ve never really had the need to modernize it but with current search engine technology as well as the way people operate online, it’s time for a revamp.
It will be modernized to be more functional with smart phones, tablets, etc. and will be easier to navigate through as well as being a vast improvement on the way information is displayed. It is still a ways off (probably a month or so). Will keep everyone posted.
Other news: a new “very berry” Ethiopian is on the way. We’ll try and have it posted by the weekend (along with the new Brazil we have which is not quite up on the site yet). This Ethiopian has high strawberry notes.
El Salvador “La Fany” is now available.
El Salvador “La Fany” is now available. If you like Guatemalan and other Central American coffees, this is a great one to try out. We were very pleasantly surprised at the cupping table when we evaluated this one.
Colombians are back in stock
Colombians are back in stock. The new Brazil and El Salvador coffees will be posted soon.
Old News
2/18/21 – Incoming coffees include La Fany from El Salvador and an equally nice Brazil “Coanop Juarex Colatino Barros” (don’t try to say it to fast – sound it out and it’s not too hard). Both will be available early next week.
Just added to our line-up of Central American coffees – Guatemala Antigua. This coffee comes from the Pastores mill located in central Antigua and is comprised of select small-holder farms (a co-op).
2/15/21 – No more Colombian coffee for a week. For some inexplicable reason we’ve experienced a much higher than usual demand for Colombian coffee. It will be available again by next weekend.
2/7/21 – Brazil Dulcineia dos Santos Black Honey is once again available. The sweetest of the honey-prep coffees, our black honey is amazingly flavorful and vibrant.
12/5/20 Indonesia Blue Dragon is all gone for now. We’re expecting more when the new crop arrives in a couple of months.
12/2/20 Kenya Gatuya Peaberry is back in stock. We ran out for a very short while. This is an amazing coffee for anyone that has not tried it.
11/18/20 – Ethiopia Sidamo “Gora Kone” is now available. Gora Kone is traditional in flavor and cup character for a nice coffee from the Southern region of Ethiopia. This is a shade grown coffee grown under and among acacia a wanza trees. What is a wanza tree? Here’s a picture of one. Note the car underneath. Only in Africa.

11/6/20 – Brazil Dulcineia dos Santos Black Honey is now available. The Gora Kone will be posted soon.
10/31/20 – Coming in late next week, a nice Sidamo from Ethiopia: “Gora Kone“. Also coming back by popular demand, a Black Honey style coffee from Brazil – “Dulcineia dos Santos“. Stay tuned…so many nice coffees are coming in around this time of year.
10/11/20 – Finally, the Geisha is here and is now available. It’s well worth the wait…

9/12/20 – Coming in late next week, a Geisha from Costa Rica. What is Geisha (also known as Gesha from it’s origin)? There are two main strains of coffee – arabica and robusta, with a lesser known strain as liberica. Most specialty coffees consist of varietals of arabica. A much less known and rare coffee varietal is Geisha, with was originally found during the 1930’s in a mountainous region of Ethiopia known as Geis. It then traveled (the seeds) to Central America, mostly grown in Panama and Costa Rica. High on sweetness and various powerful citrus and stone fruit flavors geisha coffees have won many Cup of Excellence awards throughout the world in recent years. It is expensive and in our opinion is one of the only high-priced coffees that justify the cost. Cost for geisha coffees typically start at the same as Hawaiian coffees and go up from there. Stay tuned.
9/6/20 – New microlot from Brazil now available – “Marisella Sauza“. This is a very limited edition coffee that came available to us in only a small quantity. It is a yellow-honey prep, making it a sweeter coffee than it would normaly be using a traditional sun-dried processing method.
8/29/20 – From Guatemala – Huehuetenango Finca El Zapote. This is a very bright, invigorating coffee. Available now while supplies last.
8/1/20 – From the island of Sumatra – Black Panther. At the cupping table, we were pleasantly surprised at the syrupy body of this coffee, even for a Sumatran, which is typically has fuller body than coffees from other regions. In stock and available now.
6/26/20 Daterra Farms Sweet Blue / Sweet Yellow are back in stock. Brazil Daterra Farms is a scientifically engineered farm using natural processes whose focus is on quality while preserving the local habitat of forests and animals. All coffees produced on this sprawling farm are organic. Sweet Yellow and Sweet Blue is sent to us in vacuum packed bags to preserve freshness (usually unroasted coffee is stored in burlap bags).
6/21/20 – Brazil Dulcineia dos Santos Black Honey is now available. This is an amazing micro-lot coffee that comes from a very remote region of Southern Brazil.
6/15/20 – Exciting new incoming coffees include: new crop Ethiopians – Banko Gutiti (from Kochere region of Yirgacheffe) and Worka Chelbessa (also a Yirgacheffe). Last, but not least an a startling black honey from Brazil is also inbound. They should be available by the end of the week..
6/3/20 India Monsooned Malabar is back in stock!

Tips For Brewing Coffee On Christmas

No matter where they are sourced, coffee beans experience a long journey from seed to cup. Any mistake along the way between harvesting and brewing can ruin the outcome. Each farmer invests time, effort, and care into cultivating the crop, harvesting it, drying and milling it, and packaging it for transport to our coffee shop. Even after this process, if the beans are brewed improperly, they can taste like garbage water. Read below for some foolproof tips to help you avoid making a potentially disastrous brewing mistake!
This is a basic description of how espresso is properly made using a traditional espresso machine that uses high pressure pump to force water through a portafilter for proper extraction. Our Coffee Roasting History
The Lost Dutchman Coffee Company started out in 2003. We opened with the idea of offering our customers the best coffee and espresso possible. We sampled coffees from many cafes, but found the coffee they offered was mostly sub-standard and not well prepared. So, we bought our own roaster, sourced our own beans, and continuously strive to roast for perfection while providing both training and great beans to cafes, restaurants, and coffee lovers that know and appreciate what specialty coffee is all about.
Our coffee is roasted in a micro-roastery located in Tempe, Arizona. We traditional drum roastesr. The flexible controls of our roastesr help create create splendid, consistent roast batches using the finest specialty grade coffee beans we can find. We roast on both Ambex and Probat L12 roasting equipment.
