La Minita is perhaps the best known of all the coffees from the Tarrazu growing region. It has received considerable press exposure and public acclaim, and now they are into their twelfth year. This year’s coffee has an extraordinary taste of a fine milk chocolate truffle, it is as good as any coffee that Hacienda La Minita has ever produced. Simply put, this coffee is terrific and thoroughly enjoyable. La Minita prides itself on being amongst the most meticulously grown and prepared coffees in the world. The La Minita plantation lies on 700 acres in the steeply graded, mountainous Tarrazu region with elevations between 4,000 to 7,000 feet. The estate farm produces several qualities of coffee but their signature coffee, La Minita Tarrazu, has very limited production; approximately 1700 bags per year . The attention to detail is extreme, beginning with what can be described as ordinary gardening techniques, but on a large scale, as all the work is done by hand..

Before You Order

Questions

Orders are typically shipped the same day they are roasted. So, it comes down to how fast the Post Office is. They advertise “from 1-5 business days depending on which state you’re located in.” You’ll receive tracking information via email so you can track the package’s progress.

It’s best not to grind the beans until you’re ready to use them, so grind just before you brew. Match the grind to your brewer: coarse for French press, Medium for most drip brewers. For pour overs: Medium to coarse, whichever gives you a four minute brew time (in general). Fine to very fine for espresso depending on your equipment.

Keep it in the bag it came in and put a rubber band around it. Glass containers are not great as the idea is to minimize the air (oxygen) around the beans. Unless completely full, glass containers have too much head room. If storing for up to several months, freezing is a good idea as long as the beans are completely sealed (like in the bags they come in). Studies have shown time and again that freezing, if done right, is a good option.

Currently, subscriptions are limited to a mix of single origin varietals and blends. A single coffee type for the length of the subscription is not an option. You can see how it works on the Coffee Club page.

Yes, you can pick it up at Lost Dutchman Coffee House located at 12 N Center Street in Mesa. Simply select “will pick up” during checkout. We’ll send you a text (or email if you don’t receive texts) when your order is physically at the location. You’ll receive an email notification once the order is “Processed” in our system. This does not mean it is at the pick up location yet. Wait until you receive notification that says, “your order is ready for pick up”.
