This coffee comes from the Igale AMCOS (the local term for a cooperative, abbreviated from Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Society) in the Mbozi district of Songwe. It is a small start-up operation dedicated to producing specialty grade coffee.
The Igale cooperative recently purchased a new pulper to process their coffee cherries (see image of their new pulper. Since it was their first year using the pulper, they expect to increase local interest and volumes next season.
This is a very limited edition coffee that we hope to get more of when it is harvested again next year. We hope them great success.
