Kenya Kigutha

All Coffees --> Single Origin --> Kenya

Crisp, sweet and intense best describes this coffee. One of the unique coffee processes typical of Kenya is allowing the raw coffee beans to soak in fresh water for approximately twenty-four hours after the main processing is complete. This is believed to reduce coffee bitterness. So why don't other countries use the process? We don't really know, other than it is another process that adds time. The results however, set Kenyan coffees apart from others including their African neighbors such as Uganda, which grows some of its coffee on the same volcanic soils of Mt. Kilimanjaro (the other side of it). Kigutha is a relatively large estate coffee located in the Kiambu region of Kenya.

This is a medium roast. This elegant coffee is powerfully representative of highly aromatics that Kenyans are known for. When roasting, it requires constant attention to coax out the best flavors the beans have to offer.
